During the summer season, residents of the Town of Bethany Beach can use a trolley system to travel around Bethany Beach. Residents of the Town also receive a parking pass that allows you to park in the downtown area. Other parking options are using the metered spots or going to one of the State Park Beaches where you can pay by the vehicle or purchase a pass for the year for your car.
One of these parks is the Delaware Seashore State Park which is located just north of Bethany Beach and has lots of parking and miles of sandy beaches. The park has a bathhouse with bathrooms and shower facilities as well as the Big Chill restaurant which sits right next to the beach and provides food and drink with a cool breeze and a one in a million view.
Visitors enjoy going to the park to swim, fish, camp, sunbathe and hike.
Seafood lovers can find fresh fish, oysters, and cocktails at one of the many amazing restaurants in Bethany Beach. Bluecoast and Good Earth Market are two of the most popular restaurants among both residents and guests in Bethany Beach. Bluecoast offers fabulous grilled seafood and waterfront tables. The Good Earth Market with its inviting outdoor garden and adjoining Dickens Parlour Theatre offer great food and entertainment year-round.
For shopping enthusiasts, there is no place better. Su Casa is a great home furnishing store with two locations in Bethany and a diverse range of quality home decor items. Jayne’s Reliable is one of many popular local destinations for vintage and salvaged treasures.
Summer concerts are held in Bethany, as well as an evening outdoor movie and concert series in the neighboring town of Ocean View during the summer season. The Millville Boardwalk amusement center is a great evening destination with an arcade, putt-putt golf, ice cream, and makes for a wonderful place for young and old to socialize in the summer evenings.
If you are looking for something to do away from the summer crowds there are plenty of options to explore. For hiking or birdwatching make sure you visit the James Farm Ecological Preserve.
The Bethany Beach Nature Center and Delaware Botanic Gardens in nearby Dagsboro offer residents a chance to learn about the flora and fauna of the surrounding area.
Holts Landing State Park is a perfect place for families and groups of friends to enjoy hiking, crabbing, and picnicking. The park also hosts a variety of summer concerts on Tuesday evenings in the summer
